One Local Influencer, 330K+ Views, and a Sold-Out Store — La Fontaine de Parfum's Launch

The Client

La Fontaine de Parfum is a Montreal perfume counter reinventing the fragrance experience — 100 fragrances inspired by the major perfume houses, organized by olfactory family, that customers can smell, compare, and refill freely. A genuinely fresh retail concept, but with one problem: the shop had just opened, and nobody knew it existed.

The Challenge

  • A brand-new store with zero foot traffic and zero local awareness
  • No established social media presence — the brand's own pages had small followings and no consistent posting
  • A launch moment that couldn't wait months for slow organic growth: a new shop needs customers now
  • A product that sells best in person — people needed a reason to physically walk in and smell the fragrances

What We Did

One influencer, chosen with precision. Instead of a broad, expensive campaign, we identified a single influencer from the Montreal region whose audience was genuinely local and highly engaged. Relevance and geography mattered more than follower count.

An in-store visit, turned into content. The influencer came to the shop, experienced the concept firsthand — smelling, comparing, filling — and posted about it on both Instagram and TikTok. Real experience, real reaction, no scripted ad read.

Local-first by design. Because the influencer's audience was concentrated in Montreal, every view had the potential to become a walk-in. That was the entire strategy: don't reach everyone, reach the people who can actually show up.

The Results

  • 250K+ views on TikTok — with 90% of them in the Montreal region
  • 80K views on Instagram, entirely from local people
  • The store sold out following the posts
  • City-wide buzz — Montreal saw the videos, and the hype translated into a wave of customers eager to visit
  • All of this achieved without any paid ads and without a popular brand account — the business's own social pages weren't even active

Why It Worked

This campaign is the cleanest proof there is of the power of local influencers. The brand didn't need a big account, a posting schedule, or an ad budget — it needed one trusted local voice telling Montreal "go check out this shop." Because 90%+ of the reach was geographically concentrated where the store actually is, views converted directly into foot traffic, and foot traffic converted into a sellout. For local retail, one well-matched regional influencer beats a thousand impressions from the wrong city.
